Frequently Asked Questions

We have answers.

Something unclear? Here you will find answers to the questions we are asked most frequently.

Yes. Free parking is available directly at the museum and on Breite Straße. There are also parking areas for coaches nearby.
The ground floor and the outbuildings are wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, there is not yet an elevator for the historic upper floor. A wheelchair-accessible toilet is available. We are working on digital alternatives so that all areas can be reached. If you have questions about accessibility, please feel free to call us in advance.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the exhibition rooms, as many rooms in our historic house are very narrow. Dogs on a leash are very welcome on the outdoor grounds.
There is a small cloakroom in the entrance area. Large bags and backpacks can be left at the reception free of charge. Lockers are not available.
Plan 60 to 90 minutes for a relaxed tour through all exhibition rooms. With a booked guided tour, it usually takes 90 minutes. Last admission is at 5:30 PM.
Yes, for personal use – without flash and without a tripod. We are very happy about photos on social media. For commercial recordings, please contact us in advance.
There is no café of our own. However, you will find dining options nearby in the historic center of Ovelgönne. In the entrance area, we have a small museum shop with regional products and souvenirs.
Yes. Using small QR codes in the exhibition, you can access in-depth information about selected objects on your smartphone – for free and without downloading an app. We also have a growing digital guide at digital.html.
